It’s that time of year again—college football season! For those of us living in a house divided, like mine, Game Day Friday brings an extra layer of excitement. My husband, a die-hard Clemson Tigers fan, and I, a lifelong Carolina Gamecocks supporter and proud alumni, know firsthand the fun (and playful rivalry) that comes with cheering for rival teams under one roof.
Our Rivalry Story Growing up as a Carolina fan, I’ve always bled garnet and black. Game days meant gathering with family and cheering on the Gamecocks. Then I met my husband, whose love for the Clemson Tigers runs just as deep. Now, our home is a blend of orange, purple, garnet, and black—especially on game days!
The Fun of Friendly Rivalry Game Day Fridays in our house are all about camaraderie, playful banter, and shared love for the sport. We’ve hosted many tailgates where fans of both teams mix together, and it’s always a blast. The energy is contagious, and the rivalry just makes it more fun.
Free House Divided Tailgating Checklist To help you celebrate game day, I’m sharing a House Divided Tailgating Checklist—perfect for Carolina and Clemson fans alike. It covers everything you need to host an epic tailgate, no matter which team you’re cheering for.
